Pride Source is Michigan's LGBTQ+ news source. They’re planning their 2026 special issues and seeking voices that bring fresh perspectives to their community. What they’re looking for:
“We publish thoughtful features, op-eds, interviews, photo essays, humor pieces, political commentary and investigative work. If you’ve got a bold idea — experimental, personal, funny, serious — pitch it. We’re happy to collaborate and develop concepts that show promise.”
Upcoming Opportunities:
- Home Issue (pitches due January 15)
- Wedding Magazine (pitches due January 15)
- Travel Issue (pitches due February 1)
- Pride Issues (pitches due March 1)
Rates are $125 to $150 for columns/essays, and $200 to $250 for news features and other news/pop culture reporting.
They’re also expanding Q Syndicate, their national LGBTQ+ network with affiliates nationwide. They’re seeking in-depth profiles and news features spotlighting queer leaders and changemakers across the country. They’re offering higher rates for these stories. - March: Home Guide and Music Issue (Deadline is January 29th)
- June: Pride Issues—3 editions! (Deadline is February 19th)

Pride Source is Michigan's LGBTQ+ news source. Their editorial director has tweeted, “Attention queer writers! I'm looking for pitches that are home-related (home as an actual space OR home as something more conceptual). Looking to assign a story or two this week, so if you've got some strong gay home ideas please send 'em my way.” Rate is $100 to $250 (possibly more).
